LETTER
TO PARENTS
PRESCHOOL
Learning
begins in early childhood education
While
recognizing that a child's social and academic development are
part of a process, each child will be encouraged to develop and
express his/her own unique character and personality within a
loving Christian environment. In small group settings, children
learn to work cooperatively by caring and sharing with others.
Children may attend preschool from 2-5 days per week, whatever
meets the needs of the child and his/her family.
(
2 & 3 Year Old Program)
A
portion of each day is devoted to free play, an important part
of a child's development. A variety of creative activities allow
the children to build a strong foundation for academic skills,
while learning to get along with others and developing pride in
their accomplishments. One-on-one interaction with the teacher
and teaching assistant provide each child with an opportunity
to build their oral and auditroy vocabulary.
(
4 Year Old Program)
Introduction
to basic skills is an integral part of the day's program. Using
a thematic approach, children learn pre-reading and math skills
along with additional vocabulary building. Listening to stories
begins to develop the child's ability to listen and discover needed
information about the world around them.

KINDERGARTEN
At
this stage of the child's development students begin the pattern
of regular five day attendance. Part of each child's day will
be spent in basic learning centers such as math, science, language
arts, handwriting, computer exploration and social studies. Students
are encouraged to excel within a nurturing environment.
Curriculum specifics are available during the pre-registration
interview with the Principal/Teacher.

to wide variety of enrichment experiences, from San Francisco
cultural presentations to skiing in the Sierras. Students also
have the opportunity to participate in many locsl activities such
as the Spelling Bee, Speech and Writing Festival, Science Fair
snd outdoor sporting events.
At
each level students experience sharing time, a variety of field
trips along with weekly chapel, age-appropriate Christian education,
special music instruction, free play activities (both indoors
and out), special visitors, and visits to the library - multi-media
